Hello, fellow students of marketing, innovation, tourism and events.

For those of you that do not know me, my name is Jonathan Gibb-Walsh, I am 38 and I live in the Southside of Glasgow. This is my final year in Level 10 of studying towards a BA (Hons.) in Tourism Management. I came to UWS after working in the travel and tourism industry for almost 20 years. I felt that the days, months and years were passing me by, and I asked myself what did I regret not doing? " going to university". So here I am.

During the academic year 2019/2020, I was elected as one of the student reps, for the Level 9 cohort of Tourism Management. I took my role very seriously even with the onset of the COVID-19 global pandemic, which has now impacted all of us as students and in our personal lives. I was nominated for Student Rep of the year award in the UWS Student Union Big Awards of 2020. This shows that I am dedicated to making sure that the voices of students are heard and what needs to be challenged is done.

I pledge my dedication to representing student voices once again if elected as now more than ever, the representation will play an important part in adapting to the new hybrid model of teaching and learning.
