A Union that is persistent, learns, adapts, caters to your needs, and keeps moving forward.
Hello Colleagues,
REBECCA GRANT: ASPIRANT FOR THE OFFICE OF PRESIDENT
My name is Rebecca Grant. I am currently studying BA (Hons) Performance. I love impacting the lives of people positively wherever I find myself. My hobbies include reading, writing, traveling, and acting. I am vying for the office of President and I need your support.
WHY PRESIDENT?
This position is one of the most important offices in the UWS Union as the President ‘is primarily responsible for safeguarding the academic interests and personal welfare of students’ as well as ‘ensuring that the Union is acting in a way which promotes the academic interests and welfare of students’ of this great University.
Furthermore, I strongly believe that the welfare of students is key to attaining academic excellence. It is therefore imperative for students to elect someone who understands their interests and who is committed to safeguarding such interests. I am therefore seeking your support and votes even as I offer myself to serve you in the capacity of President.
WHAT I WILL ACHIEVE AS YOUR PRESIDENT!
- Take a lead on issues that affect our student body at UWS
- Provide leadership training to our elected student leaders to further develop their skills
- Develop an all-inclusive programme of events that tailor to the diversity of students at UWE
- Review our core messages to ensure it is clear what we do for you as YOUR Students’ Union and all students are aware of our services.
- Engage the university management in ensuring that lectures are recorded and made available to students as is done in some other schools. This will assist students during preparations for coursework and exams.
- Support the mental health awareness program of UWS by encouraging all UWS students to take advantage of the UWS’s commitment to rendering support to students with mental health issues.
Please Vote Rebecca Grant for President.
Thank you for taking the time to read my manifesto.
All the best,
Rebecca
