Role Description

To contribute actively to the Board of Trustees, using any specific skills, knowledge or experience to help the Board of Trustees reach sound decisions.  This may involve, but is not limited to:

a)            Scrutinising board papers

b)            Leading discussions

c)            Providing guidance on new initiatives

d)            Hearing specific HR and/or membership discipline cases

e)            Other issues in which the trustee has special expertise

f)             Decisions by majority vote


Meetings will be held online


About this organisation

The UWS Student Union is the Representative body for all UWS Students.

We are here to support students during their time at UWS. We exist to change student’s lives by:


  • Campaigning with and for you
  • Working to improve learning and teaching
  • Offering advice and support
  • Organising events and activities
  • Enable societies for all students

Skills/Experience Required

  • There are no specific skills or experience required however applicants must be a student at the time of applying and the post is for a maximum of two years, dependent on student status
  • Applications will be considered from final-year students although preference may be given to those students that would be able to serve for at least one full year 
  • The Students' Union would be particularly keen to receive applications from self-defining women students
