Welcome to UWS MED Education Society London
UWS MED Education Society London is a student-led academic and professional community at UWS London Campus for students interested in education, teaching, research, leadership, inclusion and lifelong learning.
The society is especially relevant for MEd Educational Studies students, but all UWS London students with an interest in education and academic development are welcome.
Our aim is to create a supportive space where students can connect, share ideas, build academic confidence, take part in peer learning, discuss educational issues and develop professionally.
What we do
We aim to support students through:
peer learning and study circles;
academic confidence-building;
education discussions and reflective conversations;
research and publication awareness;
professional development opportunities;
leadership and communication development;
student belonging and community.
Induction Week 2026
During Induction Week at UWS London Campus, the MED Society engaged with students through society introductions, conversations, activity sheets and QR joining materials. Students showed interest in academic writing, peer support, study circles, presentation confidence, research development and future professional opportunities.
The induction conversations confirmed that students do not only need information; they also need connection, encouragement and a community where they can learn with others.

Building the UWS London Education Community
A welcome session for students interested in education, peer learning, academic confidence, research development and professional growth.
We are also exploring future academic development sessions linked to writing for publication and presenting at conferences, supported by academic staff where appropriate and subject to confirmed dates.
Future activities may include:
study circles;
academic writing and critical reflection support;
education discussion sessions;
peer learning meetings;
research and publication awareness workshops;
guest or staff-supported academic development sessions;
networking and professional development activities.
Who can join?
MEd students, education-focused students and any UWS London student interested in education, teaching, research, leadership or academic development are welcome.
