Here at your union we can help you join a society or create a new one, and we're here to help you run your society too!

Join a society

Joining a society at UWS is easy. Have a look through the list of our societies to find the right one for you.

How do I join a society?

Have a look through the list of our societies. When you find something you like, click on a logo for more information on that society.

Please use the e-mail addresses linked on the society pages to get in touch if you're interested in joining a society.

Some societies have a small joining fee. You can pay this as part of the sign up process.

What does this mean?

As a UWS student, you're welcome to join any of our societies. You can join as many as you like.

Joining a society does not been you are making any set commitments. It is simply an opportunity to meet other students with shared interests and experiences.

What happens next?

Most society pages have links to social media contacts as well If you have any questions, please email jamie.mcdowall@uws.ac.uk.

All our societies are run by students, on a voluntary basis, so don't worry if they don't respond immediately. They will get in touch as soon as they can.

Once you've joined, send the society a quick email to introduce yourself. You can email them by clicking on the logo at the top of the society’s page.

Fully Active

The society has an active committee and activities planned for you to join in with.

Developing

Students are in the process of establishing the society's plans for the year.

Restarting

The society has been previously active but requires new members who would like to take the lead on organising its activities.
