How do I become a Course Rep:
During the first few weeks of classes starting, your programme leader will let all students know about the Rep role and ask for volunteers. If you’d like to be a Rep for your course, let your programme leader know and they will facilitate an election. Reps will receive full training and development opportunities through the year which are exclusive to Reps to support all reps to thrive in the role.
How do I become a Department Rep:
If you have some experience of being a Course Rep, either here at UWS or at another institution, you may wish to become a Department Rep, this is a natural progression. To become a Division Rep, you should contact your Head of Department (this is detailed in your Programme Handbook and on Brightspace). Your Head of Department will then facilitate an election. Division Reps will also receive full training and development opportunities which are exclusive to Reps.
How do I become a Vice President Faculty:
During September and October 2026 (this year only), the Students Union will hold formal election for the Vice President Faculty role. If you’d like to become a VP Faculty, you need to nominate yourself during the set nomination period – check out the election pages on this website for full details and timeline for election
How do I become one of the Presidents (President or Vice President Education):
During March and April each year, the Student Union will hold formal elections to elect the President and Vice President Education (as well as the Vice Presidents Faculty), these roles are for the next academic year (i.e. elected for Academic Session 2027-28).
