Helping to keep your voices heard.

Hi fellow students.

My name is Lisa McIntyre and I am a 4th year performance student with a passion to help out those that need it. This would be my first year as student rep but I have some experience as a student representative as I was a Student Ambassador for the Dundee Rep theatre.

As a course rep, I would work to ensure that the voices of the students I represent will be heard. I will work with both the students and staff to improve student life and resolve any issues presented by the students.

I will work to ensure open communication between myself and the students, allowing them to approach me with any feedback that they feel relevant. Students must be able to influence the important decisions being made about the university as it will heavily impact our study and lives in general, so ensuring that I can bring their views forward is very crucial especially considering the wide variety of students (such as mature students, LGBTQ+ students, student carers, students with children, etc)attending UWS.

As a fellow student, I understand both how enjoyable University life can be as well as how stressful it can also be, so I would like to support you and work to make University life more fun than stressful by ensuring your views are heard. I will not put anything forwards without ensuring that it is in line with the student's views and that I have had their input on the subject.

I will also ensure that the students are given updates from the meetings in order to ensure that they are involved in the decision making process.

I am both a motivated and organised person and am willing to do the best I can to keep improving student life at the university with your support.

Thank you for reading and considering my candidacy,

Lisa McIntyre
