SOLUTION OLAKUNLE STEPHEN ADEDOYIN MANIFESTO
For over 7 years, I’ve fought for students as a Class Rep to top union leadership. I don’t just talk. I deliver. That’s why I’m known as SOLUTION.I believe in achieving more than I promise below are 4 clear and achievable priorities for every UWS student.
Stronger student voice and effective representation
1. STUDENT WELLBEING & COMMUNITY
PROBLEM: Many students experience loneliness during university. When students feel disconnected from campus life, it affects their wellbeing, confidence, and overall university experience.
MY ACTIONS:
- Launch UWS Student Got Talent to showcase talents and unite the student community.(cross campus event that will be taking place in all campus.
- Advocate for extend weekend gym hours.( Exercise supports mental wellbeing, reducing stress and burnout. Many students have busy or irregular schedules during week days, so limited hours restrict access.)
- I will initial UWS cultural/festive day: celebrating all ethnicity.
- Launching UWS Union TV on WhatsApp featuring UWS SU Face of the Week, Student Discovery, What’s Happening around Campus, Latest Student Updates, Promotion of Society Events, Student/Staff of the Week, Gym Challenge of the Week, Funniest Student of the Week, Most caring student of the Month and more.
Impact:
- Social activities reduce boredom and help ease stress, improving overall student wellbeing.
- Promotes student engagement and participation across all campuses
- Promotes cultural diversity and inclusiveness across the student community
- Improves communication and keeps students informed about campus activities and updates
- Increases student engagement and participation in Union and society events
- Promotes student recognition, community spirit, and a sense of belonging
- It also strengthen communication and feedback.
- Extended gym hours boost access, reduce stress, and improve student performance.

2. ACADEMIC SUPPORT & STUDY RESOURCES
Problem:
Students face limited access to key facilities, inadequate amenities, lack of inclusive food options, restricted and practical learning spaces affecting their overall academic experience and wellbeing.
MY ACTIONS:
- Advocate for extended library hours and 24/7 library access during assessment period in Lanark campus
- Inclusiveness in canteen food menu in all campus to enhance multiply meal option for student.
- Advocate for urgent fix to student amenities, especially microwaves in London and Also Advocate for Drinking Water fountain in London campus.
- Intervene on the Issues of accessing creative studios (ceramics, printmaking, digital suite).
- Advocate for earlier placement calendar for all nursing student to harness equal stating time.
IMPACT:
- Extended library hours provide flexible study time, improving academic performance during assessments
- Inclusive canteen options ensure students have accessible, diverse, and suitable meals for their needs
- Improved amenities (microwaves, water fountains) enhance daily convenience and student comfort
- Better access to creative studios supports hands-on learning, creativity, and skill development
3. FINANCIAL SUPPORT & SUSTAINABLE LIVING FOR STUDENT
PROBLEM:
- Nursing students in Scotland face financial pressure from a £10,000 bursary that hasn’t kept up with rising living costs, especially during unpaid placements. Major issues affecting nursing student, midwifery and paramedics student
- International students contribute significantly to UK universities but face inflexible tuition payment systems, creating financial pressure.
- Microwave is a major issues in all campus of today
MY ACTIONS:
- Advocate for better funding for Nursing students and fair placement pay.
- Advocate for Students request regarding more flexible instalments.
- Lobby local businesses close to all campus to run student discount sales seasonally
- Install supervised microwave stations near café in all campus
- Repair all damaged micro waves and advocate for more microwaves in strategic position for easy access to student.
IMPACT:
- Reduces financial stress, enabling nursing students to focus better and deliver improved patient care.
- Improves wellbeing and prevents burnout among nursing students
- Increases success rates by supporting students through financially challenging periods
- Enhances student support through better facilities and accessible resources
- Strengthens student satisfaction and creates a more inclusive, supportive campus environment
4. STUDENT OPPORTUNITY & INNOVATION SUPPORT
PROBLEM:
Late placement schedules limit preparation and fairness, while limited access to conferences and career opportunities restricts student growth and exposure.
MY ACTIONS:
- Advocate for earlier release of placement schedules for all nursing students to ensure equal start time and timely preparation.
- Sourcing conferences and programs opportunity for student growth and exposure
Impact:
- Curriculum aligned to industry
- Earlier placement calendars help nursing students plan better, reduce uncertainty, and ensure fairness.
