Every student deserves to feel like they belong.

University life can be overwhelming - balancing finances, deadlines, new friendships, and the pressure of figuring everything out at once. I understand this because I'm living it too.
My name is Akriti Shyam an, MBA student at UWS and an active member of student life. Through volunteering and my role as a Student Buddy, I’ve spent time listening to students, supporting them, and helping them feel part of the UWS community.

As your Vice President, my goal is simple: to make student life easier, fairer, and more supportive for everyone. I want a university where students receive strong academic support, have access to real career opportunities, and are genuinely heard in decisions that affect them. Most importantly, I want every student  local and international to feel supported, valued, and proud to be part of UWS.

My Top Priorities

Academic Support: Fixed lecture blocks, Aula tutorials, and transparent attendance tracking to reduce confusion and stress.

Financial Transparency: Clear fee receipts, understandable billing systems, and better access to bursaries and financial support.

Campus & Study Life: 24/7 library access and more dedicated study spaces to support different study schedules.

Opportunities & Careers: More internships, placements, career events, and stronger support for dissertations and project-based learning.

Clear Timetables: Minimised gaps between classes and consistent scheduling across courses.

Together, let’s build a student experience that truly works for all of us.
