WHO AM I?

My name is Ismail Nizami and Im currently a 4th year Biomedical Science student. I have been a student rep for 4 years at UWS and i have represented many students throughout my time here. I have attended Student Staff Liaison Meetings, Student Council meetings where we discuss and try to improve the overall experience here at UWS for all students.I have trained to become one of the ambassadors of UWS where i empower and mentor students accross all years.=

WHY AM I DETERMINED TO GET ELECTED? 

I know what its like being a student. Sometimes you feel there is so much pressure on you, things could be better or just someone to speak to while your feeling down. If i get elected, i want to be there for students, help them get through their time here at UWS and generally make student life better at UWS.

I believe we should ENJOY university, not ENDURE it!

Here are my promises if you elect me: 

------MORE PLACES TO CHILL AT UWS

Our campus need more relaxation zones. There are over thousands of students having classes everyday at UWS campuses while the cafeteria, study and relaxation spaces are very limited. I will work with the university to increase facilities for our students. 

------MORE VARIETY OF FOOD AT CANTEEN WITH AFFORABLE PRICES

UWS students deserve the best student experience - which includes good food (and also good prices). I will work with the University catering services to bring more variety of food for a cheaper and affordable price for students. They now have loyalty cards for coffess but why not for main meals too?

------HEALTH CLINICS WITH FREE CONSULTATION IN CAMPUS

Why go to NHS if we have one right inside the campus? A private, student friendly, and tailored service specific to UWS student demographic. 

------BETTER ENGAGEMENT WITH MARGINALISED COMMUNITIES 

Our postgraduate, mature and international students need more support! Elect me and I will make sure every voice is heard at UWS. I want to work with international students also to celebrate our diversity hosting events which showcases the range of countries our students come from and their culture.

------ENSURE MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING SUPPORT 

Students deserve to feel their best while studying at UWS, hence i will work closely with the university to ensure there are people here to listen to you about any concerns or just someone to talk to. i want to help students by bringing de-stress events, preparing for asessments and study support tools and wokrshops. i will also work hard to increase funding for Mental Health services.

------IMPROVED STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES 

 Services for students at UWS needs to be addressed too and must be improved. Buddy Scheme and Peer system support is one example of service that needs to be improved. I will work with different departments to ensure student services are improved to support you while here at UWS.
