Dear Colleagues,

I am Hussan Jakaria, a doctoral student at the University of the West of Scotland London campus. I am nominating myself for the post of Doctoral College Board Members to represent your voices at the heart of the University. To do that, I will need your support in each stage but for the first and foremost your votes on the upcoming election commencing on 2nd of March to 5th of March 2020. I am describing myself below to convince you further at this point.

Why me?

I have started my doctoral journey in 2016 and currently on the final stage of the thesis submission. In these periods, I have attended several meetings with the university officials to discuss various issues including quality maintenance, also attended some international conferences where two of my research articles has been published. I have long witnessed the whole process of learning experiences at UWS and know how things can be improved to make our campus life far better. Over the times, I have raised several issues to the doctoral college in regards to the research instruments, library collections, opening hours etc. and I remain committed to fighting for even better facilities and support for each and every one of us.

What specifically I will do for you?

If elected, I will

** work to improve the experience of students by campaigning for a Person-Centric approach on research stages rather than the current-group centric

approach. What it means is that the individual needs should be prioritised in supervision and facilitation right to the end of thesis submission.

**  work closely with the doctoral college to ensure the student can pay their fees on an instalment basis.

** work to facilitate better research instruments, for instance, more collections on the library and in particular a free licence to the NVivo software on your                                         personal laptop or Desktop.

** Above all, I will pass your thoughts, ideas, feedback and requests to the relevant department and make sure those were listened and actions been taken                                     where necessary.

    Convince?? PLEASE VOTE FOR ME

Not Sure?? Please drop a line with your question and suggestions at B00316166@studentsmail.uws.ac.uk

           Thank you
