Today was an incredible moment for sustainability at UWS! 🌱

What started as a simple question,  “Is there a sustainability society I can join?”  has now grown into a vibrant community of students from across different countries, departments, and colleges, all passionate about making a positive difference.

Our first meeting was filled with energy, ideas, and inspiration. Students came together to share their thoughts, discuss projects, and explore ways we can contribute to sustainability and student wellbeing on campus. The room was buzzing with curiosity, collaboration, and a shared commitment to learning and action.

This launch reminded me of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s words: leadership doesn’t start when conditions are perfect; it starts when something inside you refuses to stay silent. That spirit was alive in the room today, as students chose to step up, share their ideas, and take the first steps toward creating real change.

I’m so grateful to everyone who joined and helped make today possible. This is only the beginning. We can’t wait to welcome more students who are ready to collaborate, learn, and make a difference. Together, we can create a more sustainable, inclusive, and empowered UWS community
