🪔 UWS London Students’ Union Diwali Mela: A Celebration of Colour, Culture, and Community 🪔
The UWS London Students’ Union lit up the campus with joy and colour through its vibrant Diwali Mela, held on 14th and 15th October at the Export Hub. The event brought students together to celebrate the Festival of Lights through creativity, culture, and connection.
At the heart of the celebration was the “Sit and Paint Your Own Diwali Décor” activity — where students painted their hearts out, filling the room with bright colours and festive spirit. From hand-painted diyas to intricate rangoli-inspired art, creativity flowed freely as students expressed their individuality and shared in the joy of the occasion.

The atmosphere was truly electric — filled with laughter, music, and festive energy. Many students came dressed in traditional outfits, adding even more colour and warmth to the celebration. They captured fun videos of their artwork, shared smiles, and wished everyone a heartfelt “Happy Diwali!” — spreading the festive spirit across campus and social media.

More than just an art activity, the Diwali Mela was about belonging and community. For many international students, it offered a comforting sense of home and connection — a reminder that cultural celebrations can unite people from all backgrounds.
✨ The UWS Students’ Union is proud to create events like this that celebrate diversity, inclusion, and togetherness — lighting the way for a more connected and vibrant student community.
