Freshers Week is your chance as a new or returning student to get to know the University and the Students' Union a bit better, browse stalls at Freshers Fair, and make friends by joining welcome activities.
UWS Union are holding Freshers Fairs on all five campuses which will be packed with stalls from local businesses, volunteering organisations, and of course student societies. These events will also give you a chance to speak to the Union team about what support we offer and how you can get more involved in uni life!
Lanarkshire: 9th September 11am-3pm in The Street
Ayr: 10th September 11am-3pm in The Atrium
Paisley: 11th September 11am-3pm in UWS Union Building Level 1
Dumfries: 12th September 1pm-3pm in UWS Area in Dumfries
London: 1st and 2nd of October 11am-2pm in The Common Room and Import & Export Atriums
Societies are a great way to get stuck in and make new friends, and Freshers Fair gives you the chance to meet some of them face to face and even attend welcome events that lots of them are holding throughout September. You’ll see more info about these events on our events page and on socials soon! You can check out our currently active societies here.
Your Union also offers lots of services to students throughout the year, not just at Freshers, so this is your chance to speak to us at our own stall to say hello and enquire about our services. From how to join or start your own society, how to become a class rep, or learning about the advice service we offer, we’re here to help you! This is the first of many times you’ll see our faces!
