A Student-Led Networking Event That Inspired Connection and Confidence 🌍

The event, held on Wednesday, 8 October 2024, at the Export London Hub, was a vibrant, student-led networking initiative designed to help international students connect, collaborate, and build confidence as they begin their journey at UWS London.

Led by Shan Ali and a passionate team of student organisers, the event highlighted the power of peer-to-peer support — where students take the lead in creating spaces for open dialogue, shared learning, and community building.

🤝 Connecting Through Conversation

The event brought together new and continuing students, lecturers, alumni, and support staff for insightful discussions on adapting to the UK education system, finding part-time or full-time work, managing wellbeing, and building a strong academic foundation. Students were encouraged to interact with panel members, ask questions, and learn directly from real experiences — gaining practical advice and reassurance as they start their university journey.

    

🎮 Fun and Engagement: The Kahoot Challenge!

Adding a fun and interactive touch, the organisers hosted a lively Kahoot quiz, testing everyone’s knowledge about UWS and UK student life. The energy in the room was incredible, and two lucky winners took home Amazon vouchers as prizes!

The success of thisevent was made possible thanks to the dedicated student volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the event engaging and inclusive. The UWS Students’ Union was proud to support and fund this initiative — continuing its commitment to empowering students and championing projects that strengthen the UWS community.
