ROLE DESCRIPTION
Paisley Halloween Festival 2025: Calling All Halloween Buddies! We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make this Paisley Halloween Festival a hauntingly good time.
Paisley's most spooktacular event is back with the long-awaited, everyone's favourite parade! The Paisley Halloween Festival returns with an exciting new events programme featuring a captivating town centre-wide parade. The event will run over 2 days, Friday, October 24th and Saturday, October 25th.
The festival, one of the biggest and best free Halloween festivals in the UK, attracts huge crowds to enjoy street theatre, live acts, fun installations and the parade. The event will have a variety of fun, spooky activities happening in Paisley Town Centre, and we need your help to deliver this spectacular event.
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to get involved and help deliver one of Paisley's biggest events in the calendar. We have a range of volunteering roles open, some of which include:
Parade Buddy - As a parade buddy, you will help with the parade line-up, registration of local community groups, artists, and performers, and helping with parade participant welfare. Please note that there might be a significant amount of walking required for the parade buddy role. Additional support that might be required includes helping to light up the parade and assisting with carrying parade props.
Welcome Hosts for the Seated Area - As a welcome host, you will provide a friendly welcome to all grandstand seating ticket holders, help guests find their seats and assist with event inquiries. Accessibility Attendant - Help event visitors with event site accessibility information, oversee and manage accessible viewing areas.
Radio Room Assistant - You will be assisting event crew, volunteers, and event contractors with radio sign-in/out protocol, making sure everyone has been assigned a radio, an earpiece, and event accreditation. Your other responsibility will be to look after the radio charging station, charging up radios, and maintaining the Radio Room equipment throughout the festival.

We are the Renfrewshire Council events team, dedicated to enhancing our local community by organising a variety of events for residents and visitors. We handle all aspects of event planning, collaborating with local businesses, cultural organisations, and community groups through the Renfrewshire Events Partnership. Focused on creating sustainable and inclusive events, we cater to diverse audiences with activities like community celebrations, sporting events, and festivals. Notable events we organise include the Paisley Halloween Festival, Paisley Food and Drink Festival, Renfrewshire Doors Open Days, and Christmas Lights Switch-Ons, all designed to make Renfrewshire an attractive place to live, work, and visit.

REQUIREMENTS FOR STARTING THE ROLE
Volunteers are required to register to take part in the event. Once registered, we will host a brief, informal online meeting to discuss the available roles, volunteer needs, and development opportunities. Following this, we will provide a training session and an on-site induction prior to the live event, ensuring that all volunteers are well-prepared and confident in their roles. We’re excited to work together to create a fantastic experience!
