Women's Group

We're the Intersectional Feminism group at UWS. We believe that feminism must be inclusive and supportive, and we put on events to raise awareness of issues facing women.

About us

UWS Women is the Intersectional Feminism group at the University of the West of Scotland. We believe that feminism must be inclusive and supportive, and we put on events to raise awareness of issues facing women globally, in Scotland, and at UWS.

If you'd like to work with us, or are interested in joining our group, please feel free to get in touch!

This society is an inclusive safe space for everyone who identifies with the label "woman", including non-binary people who may also identify with that label. We work closely with other liberation groups and Accessibility to Education UWS to ensure we are always as inclusive and accessible as possible.

Tue 03 Nov 2020

A top court in Poland recently issued a ruling that bans virtually all legal abortion in the country, tightening what was already one of the strictest anti-abortion laws in the EU. The ruling bans all abortion except in exceptional circumstances where the parent’s life or health is at risk, or where the pregnancy was a result of rape or incest.
