Wanting to serve fellow social work students as I passionately believe in representation and being heard.

As I attended the "How to be a class rep" information events I understand most of the procedures involved with being a representative. I am a disabled, LGBT+, mature student so I appreciate hurdles which fellow students may be faced with in order to achieve their goals and have shared in many of these. I hope I have already proven my passion to helping others on the course succeed and would be honoured to serve and represent social work students as student rep.

Areas which I would hope to advance through being elected as a rep include -

Creation of Social Work Academic Society to enable networking, outside speakers and further educational and involvement opportunities.

Voting on motions only after discussing with fellow students so all our voices are being heard.

Technical and online assistance for students as covid has brought challenges which many students have received inadequate assistance with.

More library resources. As students are finding it incredibly difficult to access the library, and technical issues are ongoing, it is urgent that more resources are available.

Socialising opportunities. As remote students it is really important that a large part of University experience is not forgotten and we are able to socialise together.

Where possible ensure assessments are relevant and are do not have increased difficulties, time demands or further disadvantages due to covid.

Mental health support both now and when we are on placements linking with the Union's campaigns on better and open mental health.

I hope that my classmates know that I am eager to help them so being elected as class rep would allow further opportunities to do so. I welcome any questions on why I am standing as rep and wish everyone else standing the best!

Thanks for reading and I genuinely would love your vote!
