I don't just speak the change. I make the change!

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well! - My name is Ambreen and i would like to nominate myself as a course rep for the BA (Hons) Business & Finance course. I am a third year Business and Finance student based at Paisley campus.

In the light of COVID-19, the outbreak has changed many things about the way we live and work, but UWS's mission and values remain the same. It may have caused an unprecedented year for us all, however, this encourages us to further reflect on how we continue to improve your journey through university. It has made our purpose of supporting you guys each step of the way, much stronger!

UWS is committed to supporting and enhancing a strong partnership between students and staff. Being your student representative for the Business & Finance programme, I would ensure that you guys can enhance your own learning experience, especially now that modules are delivered online. How will we do this? By championing transparency and feedback between the university and the student council. We will ensure that you can drive forward change within the university.

I have a great concern for people and enjoy helping fellow students. I would like to help improve the quality of the educational experience the University has to offer. Being a student rep for Business & Finance for third year, i can see how impactful the role as a Student Representative can be- being able to improve the student learning experience and to listen to the opinions of my fellow students - whether or not I agree with views expressed. This is not about me but about all students in the Business & Finance programme which I not only want to represent but moreover support.

As your representative on the BA Business and Finance programme i would aim to ensure that;

1. Anyone can make their voice heard and express their opinion

2. You are kept informed of the decisions made by the student council

3. To provide BOTH positive and negative feedback to staff

4. Decisions made by the student council are to the benefit of you all

As well as this, i will endeavour to give you opportunities to inform me of what i can do to improve your experience- because you know best in regards to what you want to change. I would be honoured to represent you during the coming year and to be given the opportunity to make a positive impact on your university experience.

Voting for me is a great opportunity for YOU to get your voice heard, a direct input for YOUR thoughts and ideas. I am here to listen to you guys and i assure you that i am able to take the responsibility and make a positive change. You won't regret it!!!

Stay safe!

Many thanks, Ambreen.
