Ross Clark

An experienced voice for students.

Hello.

I’m Ross Clark and I’m standing for election to be your Academic Rep for the division of Sport and Exercise.

I had the pleasure of being the Academic Rep for Sport Coaching last year in 2nd Year and I am hoping to build on this work.

Building on the experience I was able to gain in making sure the voices of students on my course were heard on the Student Council, I hope to make a difference. My experiences included taking part in debates on motions that would affect our university life and I even took a successful resolution through that process that ensured we would require one month’s notice of any scheduled class, if this was not possible you would not be marked down for attendance.

So I have demonstrated success and background in the role of academic rep.

Out with this, I have significant experience in the political environment and I currently hold a senior position on the youth wing of a major Scottish political party. So I have a track record of representing groups of young people, writing resolutions, scrutinising them and speaking on them. Ensuring that I am an effective representative of those I represent and making sure their voices are heard.

If elected as your Academic Rep for the division, I would work to make sure students from our course would be well represented.

I would work to try and make sure staff were giving enough notice of scheduled classes.

I would try and make sure deadlines and assessments were fair to students in the current climate, particularly relating to placements.
