My name is Shubhra Nigam...

I have just completed my Doctorate degree (DBA) and  I have also represented the Students’ Union last year at Scotland Conference and I am a course rep and now I’m running to be your next Vice President - Education.....  I want to improve the learning experience of you all while you are at the UWS.....

I have been at the UWS for almost 5 years and I have seen all the difficulties and hardship that a doctorate and other students have to go through.

Accordingly, if elected as the Vice President of Education, I can carry out all those activities that will be of help to all the students and across all the campuses thereby improving the learning experience of all the students while you are at the UWS...

Thus, if elected as Vice President of Education  I will always be there to help you, you can always contact me over the phone or email me when needed.

HOW WILL I IMPROVE THE STUDENT EXPERIENCE?

• Regular and effective Feedback of Assignments and thesis  from Tutors (online as well as face to face)

• Easy Access to The Tutors and Lecturers during the lockdown and once things get normal

• Increasing online Workshop on NVivo, SPSS And Other Software Needed by The Students   

• Provide One To One Support on SPSS, NVivo and other software either online or in-person

• Provide  More Workshops on Research Methodology and Statistics Especially for The Research Students.

• Provide workshops on software related course  so as to improve the employability of the students 

• Conferences and symposiums for all the research students to enhance academic and professional skills. 

• Teaching experience for all the research students, in order to increase their employability once completed with their doctorate degree

• Work on increasing the placements opportunity for the student once completed with their studies.

• Extended Library Hours for the students during the exam time.

• Out Of Regular Hours Entry In The Library For The Research Studen

• Arranging Webinars for Students from Different Campus Who Are Interested in Attending It

• Regular Accountability to The Students, Equal Focus on All the Campus

• Take All Those Steps Which Will Aid in Timely Progression Of Studies.

• Will take all steps to aid the academic development and enhance the employability of the students.
