Candidate for the position of Vice President of Welfare and Wellbeing
We are the voice of the future. Vote for Alexandra, vote for change.
Hello everyone! I’m Alexandra Silverton Lopez, an international student running for the VP of Welfare and Wellbeing position.
As mentioned, I am an international student who has been living in Scotland for 4 years. Like all students, I have gone through ups and downs throughout my degree and I believe that the COVID-19 situation has affected our mental health more than ever.
We come from a generation in which talking about mental health is seen as taboo, that is why during this pandemic I have realised that this has to change. I think everyone should have access to mental health support.
For this candidacy, I want to help everyone, whether you are tall, short, white, black, international, or part of the LGBTQ+ community. We all deserve it. I want you to find peace and harmony in your lifestyle so I propose to create wide accessibility for all students. I want all of you to feel secure to ask for help and get that help as soon as possible. I want to hear your voices and ideas. I will listen to each problem and seek an immediate solution. If you need financial help, I will look for help available for you. I want you to feel at home.
Vote online at www.uwsunion.org.uk/vote from Monday 1st March until Thursday 4th March.
