Candidate for the position of NUS Scotland Conference Delegation
EMMA SHOTTER
Still a Strong Voice for Students
Re-elect Emma Shotter
Vote No.1 for President and NUS Conference Delegations
My name is Emma Shotter and I am your current Vice President Education at SAUWS. During my time at UWS I have represented students in many ways. This has included positions such as SAUWS Disabled Officer (2015-17) and Student Representative. In addition to this, I have been involved with many projects, with the aim of widening access to education in STEM subjects.
Since July 2017 I have acted as SAUWS VP Education. In addition to this, I have served as Depute at SAUWS in the role of Second Court Representative. During this time, I have worked on a variety of projects including my manifesto points of student rep improvements, lecture capture and assessment & feedback. I have sat on 25+ committees to represent student’s voices to the University and outside organisations such as Sparqs and the QAA. Also, I have worked tirelessly to ensure equality and diversity issues are considered in all aspects of the University. This has included arguing for gender neutral bathrooms on all campuses and looking into student rep diversity.
Over the next year many changes are going to occur in Universities across Scotland. The impact of Brexit and Government reforms such as the TEF will continue to change the way Universities operate. If elected as your Student President I will adapt to this changing landscape, advocating the best deal for UWS students.
