My fellow Students of UWS

 My name is Christiana Orisakwe from MSc Information Technology with Security. I have genuine interest and passion for education as I believe that this is one core qualities that will enable me make informed decision that the student and institution at large will benefit from maximally.

Coming from an educational background with years of experience in ensuring students voice are heard while implementing modules and when there is need for change in curriculum, pedagogy and cheering student engagement in classroom activities has exposed me to the needs and challenges faced by students on a daily basis and this has encouraged me to run for the post of the Vice President Education.

I will passionately and willfully join with the helm of affairs of the institution to plan and implement education policies that are aimed at facilitating growth, innovation, and intellectual interest of the students in the institution.

My purpose is to able to work collaboratively with you (the students), the stakeholders and faculty members to promote quality education, cooperation and mutual dialogue to create equal opportunities and strong support system for the students and encourage self-pace learning for the students to surpass academic hurdles that creeps in unknowingly.

My key duties is to:

1. Ensure within my capacity that the education policies will prioritize student’s interest.
2. I will encourage more research and development opportunities, including academic conferences, research grants, and publishing opportunities, for students and faculty members to promote growth and development within the institution.
3. I will promote innovative teaching and learning strategies that incorporates technology-based solutions, and provide practical hands-on experience to keep the students updated with the requirements in the current job market.
4. The communication between the staff body and the student body will be accessible and improved on.
