Hi students and friends,

Thank you for visiting my manifesto page.  Below are some information about who I am, a brief overview about things I have done this year as your current Vice President  Societies and Citizenship.

------SCRAP GRADUATION AND OTHER HIDDEN COSTS
it costs £40 to attend graduation and get a piece of parchment paper and another £40 for the same black graduation gown which students might have worn year after year. I will scrap the graduation fee and temporarily introduce a graduation hardship fund for students who are in need of it.

------ENSURE SUPPORT FOR ALL MARGINALISED GROUPS
Being a BME person myself, I understand what oppression is! like how BME people are oppressed from equality, opportunities and other injustices, so are the communities of LGBT+, women, disabled, international students, care leavers and all marginalised communities. I will work to ensure EQUITY in equality for all.

------CONTINUE HELPING STUDENTS IN FINANCIAL HARDSHIP
Having experienced being in financial hardship myself, I understand how hard it can be to be a student. I recently started the food sharing project at the students union - an initiative for free food being available to all students. I want to continue working on this to a bigger initiative and also work on increasing the hardship funds available to students.

------CONTINUE CAMPAIGNING FOR POST-STUDY WORK VISA
I am one of the founders of the "Post-Study Work Visa now" campaign which campaigns to bring back the Post-study work visa for International students which was abolished in 2012. The campaign has already gone national all-around UK and I want to continue lobbying the government to bring this back.

------BETTER COMMUNICATION WITH STUDENTS
Communication is super important for the students association to make students aware of all activities in the university and the Students' Union. I will ensure students are updated on what's going on and I will also run regular accountability time with students via online and in campus too.

------HELP STUDENTS WITH RENTING ISSUES
Student renting is a nightmare. I am currently working with ShelterScotland to work on making students aware of their renting rights.
I will introduce emergency accommodations for students in immediate need of a roof to sleep under temporarily and also explore problems with student renting.

------ASSURE EQUAL ENGAGEMENT WITH ALL CAMPUSES
We have 5 campuses but Paisley gets all the attention. How is that any fair? This year I brought back our London campus back to the map by ensuring engagement at the forgotten campus. I will make sure students at every campus have equal engagement and opportunities to access.
