Every student has a voice, let me be the microphone!

Who am I?

I will start by introducing myself, I am a 4th year mechanical engineering student who has passion for problem solving and assisting others. This is my first year as Student Rep at UWS, although I do have experience of being a Student Rep in my previous study through the college system.

During this time, I developed excellent organisational and leadership skills throughout my studies, typically being the group leader in previous groupwork activities – typically performing very well as a group.

School Officer – Pledge to Students

As School Officer I feel it would be vital to understand the processes and procedures within each of the CEPS departments, this is something I would be dedicated to learning from day one.

This approach would allow for general issues within a department to be solved much more efficiently, as they might not need the attention of the whole school’s staff, of course this works both ways in determining serious issues present within the school.

My primary focus as School Officer would be to ensure once again that all students voices are heard to the fullest extent school wide, this is very important to me as students are the foundation of education. Therefore, if the students are not appropriately represented at every level I feel it results in an unrepresentative/unfair system.

In order to do so I will work with all Student Reps and Division Reps across the school, allowing for mass feedback to be gained – which will allow for issues/positives to be quickly identified.

This feedback would also be taken and presented to the relevant person(s) – i.e. The School Board – as extensive information will be presented, this will allow for conclusions to be drawn at the will of the student feedback.

If any action (minor/major) has to be taken, be certain I am the person to represent you and to get the ball rolling in doing so – as I feel if issues are not raised and appropriate solutions are not given as soon as possible minor issues can become catastrophic problems.

Finally, I will ensure I will be communicating with all students within the CEPS School informing them of any changes based on feedback and potential opportunities within the school and further.

I feel I would be the best candidate for this position as I am a very selfless person and enjoy helping others as much as I can. Alongside this I actively enjoy communicating with people from all different backgrounds etc, which I believe this position will allow me to do so.

Thank you for reading and considering my candidacy,
