My name is Pritpal Kalsi and I’m currently studying MSC Career Guidance & Development in which I’m a student rep. I’ve also just recently finished my 4-year undergrad in BSC Psychology where I was an active student rep for all 4 of those years and also the chair of Psychology SSLG’s. I oversaw the change in the programme based on the feedback I collected from students which impacted not only my currents year but also for future Psychology students now.

I’m not afraid to say what needs to be said in order to make your voice heard and for change to occur. I am respectful but understand that student’s feedback needs not only be heard but acted upon.

I also work for the Applicant Enquiry Team within UWS which is part of Student Recruitment / Admissions and speak to current and potential applicants all the time so I understand first hand allot of the frustrations that happen within the institution and throughout my job I always go the extra mile to make sure information is accurate and the students journey is as stress free and enjoyable as possible. I acted upon changes for the Alumni discount for those undergrads progressing onto postgrad courses at UWS to which there is now an actual process involved for acquiring it whereas before it was lost in the void.

I won’t be listing everything I will do if elected because that is simply impossible to guarantee what I don’t already know, however what I can guarantee is what I’ve been doing based on my track record over the last 4.5 years which is collecting and streamlining all the feedback, in this case from various class reps / divisional reps and condensing that information to the relevant people who will act upon it in order to ensure your voice is heard.
