Tue 20 September 2022 13:00-14:00

Lanarkshire Campus - Students' Union area (The Street)

Where is it?

We will be meeting on the sofas on the right hand side of "the Street" (the opposite end from the cafe)

Who's this event for?

This event is open to all mature students (over 21 years of age)

Why should you attend this event?

  • This is your opportunity to meet other mature students who may face similar experiences and challenges to you
  • The Students' Union would like to help develop an active Mature Students Society across our campuses
  • We will use this event to make plans for more mature students events and to help you keep in contact with each other
  • You will also have the opportunity to ask Students' Union staff any questions about your university experience

What will happen at the event?

  • This will be an informal, social meeting with a focus on getting to know other students
  • You will be welcomed by one of your Students' Union Officers or staff members
  • There will be free snacks and refreshments
  • We will chat about:
    • your university experiences so far and what's been good and bad about it
    • what similar challenges students face and what you would like to gain from your university experience
    • how you can support each other throughout the year
    • what the Students' Union can do to enable this

Would you like to be more involved?

  • We are looking for students who would like to take on leading roles in the development of our Mature Students Society
  • If you would like to be involved with this, please email jamie.mcdowall@uws.ac.uk
