Student Trustees

We are looking for motivated, goal orientated student trustees who enjoy the challenge of making a difference to our students’ lives by contributing to the strategic direction and general management of the charity.

The Students’ Association of the University of the West of Scotland (SAUWS) is a dynamic and vibrant organisation which exists to ensure the continuous improvement of our students’ experience.

In order to help us achieve this we have four Student Trustee vacancies.

We are looking for motivated, goal orientated student trustees who enjoy the challenge of making a difference to our students’ lives by contributing to the strategic direction and general management of the charity.   

We will need you to be WISE:

  • Welcoming – a friendly approach in person and online
  • Inclusive – enabling opportunities for all
  • Supportive – supporting each other appropriately
  • Engaging – communicating, listening and responding.

Knowledge or experience of working within a 3rd sector organisation will help you in the role; however this is not a requirement.

Student Trustee(s)

SAUWS is looking to appoint 4 Student Trustees. The candidate should have enthusiasm for the mission, vision and values of the Student Association of the University of the West of Scotland.

The purpose of the role is to ensure the Students’ Association is financially secure, has a strong strategic plan in place with its targets being achieved. Also ensuring the Students’ Association is complying with Charity Law, relevant legislation and its’ Constitution.

The candidate must be an enrolled UWS Student during the academic year of 17/18, and would have to attend between four and five meeting per-year. Please note that the appointment is not a public facing role and is for one year; (July 2017 – June 2018) with the possibility of being re-appointed for a further one year term providing that they remain a student of UWS during that time.
