It’s early springtime and it’s the perfect time for a Garden Party, so The SAUWS Environment team are hosting a garden party event on the 22nd of April 2014 to celebrate the launch and the progress of the Riverside Community Garden so far.
Students will get the opportunity to come together on the garden site outside the Ayr campus to enjoy a FREE lunch. Live music will also be on offer from a selection of excellent singer songwriters. No garden party would be complete without some gardening so project manager Melanie Hall will be on hand to offer some seed planting sessions and other fun gardening activities. It’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate the beginning of spring and the launch and success of the Community Garden.
About the Garden:
The UWS Community Garden project has been set up to offer a chance to staff and students to work together to develop and manage a plot across three UWS Campuses. The project also reaches out to the local community creating opportunities for volunteers and organisations to get involved. The long term aim for the gardens is to create a lasting legacy and a community run spirit.
For any information on how you can get involved in the garden project or the launch event please get in touch with sustainability@sauws.org.uk
We are still looking for some acoustic acts to perform also. Please get in touch with Liam.Cassidy@sauws.org.uk if you would like to perform.
