There have been three Motors.co.uk Most Deserving awards dished out to lucky winners since 2011. These include Most Deserving Local Hero, Most Deserving Business and last but not least, Most Deserving Student.
Now in its third year, the Most Deserving Student award has gained considerable prestige and is clearly something that the awards’ organisers, Motors.co.uk, are very proud of, but enough of the idle chatter, for here’s what you’ve all been waiting for.
The winner of the Most Deserving Student 2013 award is – JULIA HEBB!
Julia Hebb’s nomination story
Mother of two, Julia was nominated by her closest friend, Gill Turner, whose nomination of Julia is a reflection of the genuine admiration and awe that she feels for her friend and her achievements.
Having known each other since they were 13, Gill is amazed – as well as incredibly proud – at what a great person and mother Julia has proven herself to be, managing to bring up in Gill’s words, ‘two of the most amazing kids I know’. Kelly, Julia’s eldest child and only daughter recently achieved 14 GCSEs graded between A and A*, and her son Tyler has managed to battle through the dual burden of Asperger’s Syndrome and Autism to go to college.
This was considered an unlikely eventuality when Tyler was very young, because what befell him made it difficult for him to be accepted in a mainstream school, but Julia’s fierce determination (and clearly wisdom) made sure that he was able to do just that. Tyler had difficulties learning to speak due to his conditions and without an adequate system to accommodate him in place, Julia set about developing a system of speech therapy, which is now widely accepted and implemented by speech therapists.
As well as looking after two children, Julia decided to improve her level of education, completing her GCSEs and successfully completing an access course to enter Salford University, where she is now studying for a Nursing (BSc) course.
Julia’s busy schedule necessitates a car and according to Gill, her worn out car frequently requires repairs and is on its last legs. With this in mind, it is good news that Julia has won a Peugeot 107 worth £5000.
