Explore Beyond Your Door is open to all UWS Students and is the opportunity for you to showcase your favourite local landmarks, activities or causes to your peers.
To be in with a chance of winning one of our amazing prizes, simply decide how best to bring your local area to life. Snap a pic, create a video, sketch a colourful image or evoke the imagination with a poem, the choice is yours.

Explore Beyond Your Door is a competition organised by the Union and open all UWS students. We want to know about places, causes or activities that excite you and share them with everyone. We're inviting you to find useful, fun, exciting, interesting, beautiful and worthy places, activities or causes near your campus; showcase them in a way that you think shows their worth and send them to us.
There are 14 amazing prizes up for grabs!
The competition will run from 9 April to 26 April 2021 (entries will be accepted until 5pm on 26 April 2021). Winners will be announced on Friday 14 May 2021.
There are 4 categories with 3 challenges in each of them that you can choose from. Each entry gives you 1 point. A maximum of 30 points will be additionally allocated to each entry on 3 criteria: Originality, Creativity and Content. The categories are as follows:
Complete as many challenges as you like. For example, you could write a blog, take a photo, film a video, create an animation, draw a map, create a drawing, write an essay or a poem. The possibilities are endless!
Fill in this form and attach your entry/entries (please note you will need to use your @uws.ac.uk email address to complete this form, this form will go live at 12am on Friday 9 April 2021).
Once your entry is approved, you will receive an email confirmation.
Each entry gives you 1 point.
A maximum of 30 points will be additionally allocated to each entry on 3 criteria: Originality, Creativity and Content. These points will be allocated by a panel of judges (consisting of Union staff, Sabbatical officers and UWS students).
The winners will be announced on Friday 14 May 2021.
