The X16 between Kilmarnock and Hamilton was one of only two ways to get to UWS Lanarkshire by public transport, but has now been axed by Stagecoach.

Our Campus Rep for Lanarkshire, Dave Charleston, said: "the recent news regarding the cancellation of the X16 sevice is hugely disappointing for students at UWS Lanarkshire. At a time when public transport is already limited, this will only increase the number of cars being used to travel to and from the campus.

"For Stagecoach to make this change without any warning is a slap in the face to locals and students alike, and I sincerely hope that they will reconsider."
