Enable Ayr & District SCIO

Youth Group Volunteer (Learning Disabled)

ongoing opportunities

Role Description

We are looking for volunteers to help with our TARDIS Youth Group facility for young people (age 16-24 with Learning Disabilities) to enhance their social opportunities.

Our TARDIS Youth Group runs on Monday evenings from 6:30pm to 8:30pm and provides various activities including pool, tabletop football, guitar & keyboard tuition for fun, computers and gaming, jenga, arts & crafts, disco’s, movie & popcorn nights etc.

We are looking for a commitment of a couple of hours per week to encourage and befriend these young adults to help increase their confidence, self-esteem and resilience. We are also trying to reduce their social isolation by seeking out opportunities to enable them to access positive social activities within their local community.

We have a fantastic group of young adults who regularly attend TARDIS to take part in the activities and to learn new skills and have fun! They just need you to help give them encouragement, support and help find their hidden talents, working towards being more independent and socially included!
